4x4 is a prototyping PCB compatible with Eurorack. It can be mounted as a panel in a standard 3U case. Its width is 16HP (81 mm), and it can be easily split by hand into four 4HP sections.
- Holes at the standard 2.54 mm spacing around the entire panel.
- Enlarged holes suitable for jacks, buttons, LEDs, potentiometers, DIP ICs, etc.
- Pads with increased surface area.
You can immediately build two layers and connect them with pins the old-fashioned way.
The design allows you to snap off the top and bottom parts of the board and use them as a second layer under the panel.
- Width: 16HP, 81 mm, 32 solder points
- Height: 3U, 128.5 mm, 41 solder points
All files required for self-production are published on GitHub.
If you decide to order these boards blindly, keep in mind: the sources and Gerbers in the repository are prepared according to JLCPCB panelization standards and may not be compatible with the requirements of other manufacturers.
In addition: JLC does not guarantee reliable pad isolation with HASL finishing for this design, something they specifically warned me about in an email. In practice, however, there have been no issues with this type of finish. If such a risk is unacceptable for you, ENIG is always an option.
